I can't wrap my brain around the people who liked the other Indiana Jones movies but for some reason didn't like this one. I just don't get it, this movie rules, and it rules in the exact same way the old ones did. I think it's just the nitpicky, fanboy movie culture we have these days, where everything from their childhood is viewed with rose-colored glasses, and everything new is dissected and over-analyzed to the point where half their complaints don't make any god damned sense. This is a great fucking movie and, if you like this kind of spectacular blockbuster shit, you should do yourself a favor and cherish it.

Agreed. The worst part of this is the phrase "nuked the fridge". What, was "rafted out of a plane" too long or does that somehow not count?
I still think this has one of the best chase scenes in the whole series, the stuntwork remains riveting.
Ugh, don't even get me started on "nuke the fridge." Like, you're willing to accept a magical box that when you open it makes ghosts explode you're head, but this was too far-fetched for you?
I think it's telling that the expression "nuke the fridge" was derived from a scene that happens in the first 15 minutes of the movie. It tells me that the nerds who use this phrase were so willing to tear this movie apart that they deemed it terrible before the opening sequence was even over.
As a side note, I also don't grasp it when some people complain that the aliens are too unrealistic. Apparently it's far more realistic that the different relics of CONFLICTING RELIGIONS exist and are imbued with magical powers. I got into a discussion with the movie with Shenan's uncle one time, and he said that the aliens were stupid but that everything in Riaders of the Lost "could actually happen."
I know I'm less religious than most people, but is the Ark of the Covenant, the Holy Grail and those stones from Temple of Doom having magical powers really more plausible than aliens?
